Rogue River Fishing Conditions 8-10-2014

One word: excellent.

The best fishing has been on the Rogue in a few years.

One problem: water.

They are going to start releasing water from the dam upstream on either Tuesday or Wednesday.  That will have the effect of lowering the water temperature in the river and the salmon will more than likely NOT hold in the Rogue Bay and will be moving upstream rapidly.  In years past, this has made fishing in the Bay extremely spotty.  It looks like upstream anchored and drift fishing will become much more the norm for fall fishing (similar to spring fishing).  We’ll have to wait and see.

Meanwhile…
