Rogue River Fishing Conditions

River Conditions = COME GET SOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rogue River has warmed up above 68F and holding.  Late springer Chinooks and Fall fish are coming in mixed right now.  Expect to be trolling until October.  Fish counts look good early – we’ll see if it holds up.

Rogue River Fishing Conditions 5-14-2017

Howdy peeps –

Weather looks to be improving for the next couple of weeks.  Water is on its way down with the water temp expected to start to increase.  Fish are coming in daily with some being caught – seems to still be a lot of wild fish caught with a few hatchery in there also.  If we go by years past, the best spring fishing should be starting shortly with the increased temperatures.  My schedule is wide open, but I expect spots to be filling up soon so if you’re looking to come down and drop a line, give me a call and let’s get together to hook up some of the best fighting fish in the world!

(And they taste pretty damn good also 😉 )

Rogue River Fishing Conditions Update 4/2/2015

Spring chinooks are being caught – just like the 22 pounder below caught by Tim S. on my boat just above Rogue Landing.  We also caught one wild springer that was released.  It’s a great time for spring chinook fishing!  Come get some!!

Current Rogue River Fishing Conditions:

Howdy howdy fisherpeople!  Chinooks are stacking up in the bay daily – while some are taking off up river, most of the fish will stack up and wait for cooler water to come down.  Current water temperature at Agness is around 76 F, so the salmon prefer to mostly hang where the cooler ocean water mixes with the warm river water.  Fish are starting to be caught fairly consistently on plain anchovies or spinner bait rigs, with some even being caught on non-baited spinners.  Chartreuse/Green/Yellow seems to be the color of choice.  Fishing is still a little slow, but is picking up and will only get better for the next month or so.  20-25 pounders are pretty normal with bigger fish being caught at times.  Saw one 35lb+ fish pulled in yesterday afternoon.  Hearing reports that summer steelhead are in full swing side-drifting roe (I really need to get up there and check out tuna balls!).  There are some salmon night-running upstream, but most are still holding in the bay.  Have one report that there are a lot of salmon sitting off-shore in the ocean waiting to come in.  Haven’t heard any definitive counts, but it does look promising in the near future as these fish continue to move into the bay.

Rogue River Conditions – Fishing slow but expected to pick up soon

Current Rogue River Fishing Conditions:  Fishing has been slow on the Rogue, but the water temperature is rising and the fish are beginning to hold in the bay. I expect fishing to pick up dramatically over the next few weeks.  Come on down and join the fun – we’ve got beautiful brand new Lamiglas Certified Pro Kwik rods and brand new Abu Garcia reels that are just begging to help you reel in your next salmon!
